CARLENTINI – Day 3 March 2023, at the “Turi Ferro” Theater in Carlentini, two great artists from the Italian entertainment world perform, Giuliana De Sio and Alessandro Haber. The direction is by Pierpaolo Sepe, the artistic direction by Alfio Breci, the sets by Francesco Ghisu and the costumes by Katarina Vukcevic. On stage other extraordinary artists such as Paolo Sassanelli, Riccardo Festa and Paolo Persi.
It is the story of Bonamente Fanzago, a disarmed porn actor who, every Tuesday, waits for a mysterious woman to pay for her gigolo services.
The location is the Lisbon pension, very modest, managed by Mr. Alfredo, a transvestite who lives his condition, hiding from a hypocritical and respectable environment.
We witness the ironic and passionate development of a series of human events, interesting and light at the same time. The succession of events looks like a “Matryoshka”, from which surprise facts from the past emerge which ironically collide with the present.
The characters have a life that has made them “bizarre” and desperate, due to their mistakes, their passions and the bad things they have received.
Beyond the peculiarities of each character, it seems that each of them is missing something, that something that will emerge during the evolution of the facts, which in the story of their fullness, reveal an epilogue full of surprises and details that clarify, reveal themselves and maybe they hurt.
Everyone experiences their intimate wounds as burdens, from whose weight they cannot free themselves, remaining imprisoned by their own lives, without ever finding an alternative to their flat and irreversible routine, sufficient to survive and be satisfied.
Intimately, each character reflects on the fact that they should have had the courage to get out of the trap of their flattened life, in order to change course, rejecting what is “toxic” and embracing the simplest and “lightest” things. But they don’t do all this, they have decided to carry on with their heads down, subject to the law of stagnant “routine”.
